VLC Player – Solving Video Appearing in a Separate Window
VLC Player is commonly used for playing video files, but it also handles audio files. In the image above, the red circle shows two VLC Player applications open. Typically, only one window opens when playing a single video file.
If you ever experience a video opening in a new window or encounter similar issues, here's a solution:
Steps:
- Open VLC Player.
- Click on the Tools menu > Preferences > Video tab.
- Under Output, select xvideo output (XCB) or x11 video output (XCB). The default is usually set to Automatic.
- Save and close VLC Player.
Try playing the video again. It should now open in a single window.
Thanks, hope this helps.
